The Apprentice s8 Week 4

Cheap as chips!  It’s the Apprentice version of Bargain Hunt this week as the candidates go looking for second-hand stock to sell on at a profit.  Presumably trying to find decent stuff amongst a load of rubbish is also how Lord Sugar views his annual search for the winner…

The suitcase with the legs: wtf?

Argh. This is the FIFTH time I have tried to type this comment. *shakes fist at WordPress*

Anyway, before the blog eats it again: Laura should have reined in the spending, Gabrielle misjudged what kind of refurbishment would sell and for what prices, and Jane put off every customer within a 5 mile radius. It was a close call, but I’d have fired Jane too.

Agreed. Sugar could reasonably have fired any of the three, but Jane was the one most likely to be killed by her fellow candidates first. I didn’t think she was all that bad, but some of her flaws were shown up a bit too easily, so no problem with her being fired – although I suspect she may end up being the most successful of all the candidates when we look back in 10 years’ time. (Not that we’ll actually be doing that, of course!)

Gabrielle is worryingly naive when it comes to costs and numbers. And Laura, while very nice, is the sort of leader who gets on well with people without actually leading.

Genuine evidence tonight that Tom should figure among the big favourites, I think. Clear strategy, stuck to his guns despite objections, used his team well, didn’t panic. A strong performance.

    My usual ramblings:

Oh lord. Take crap. Put crap in shop. Sell crap. It’s…crapalicious

Crapalicious, heh. It beats taking a bin and making it into a funky bin any day …

But they could put LEGS on that bin! And paint a union flag on it
