People like me will tell you that, say, ‘The Sopranos’ or ‘The West Wing’ or ‘The Wire’ are better than ‘Lost’, and taking everything into consideration we’re probably right. But there is nothing, absolutely nothing, on the TV landscape which delivers entertainment like ‘Lost’.
In what has been a season of sensational episodes this was another cracker. If you were looking to find fault – and this isn’t a spoiler – you might say that the concept of ‘The Constant’, the episode title and plot hinge, is introduced somewhat arbitrarily.
But that, frankly, is nitpicking. For intelligent, well-written, challenging, popular TV there’s nothing to beat ‘Lost’ at its best; and this is ‘Lost’ at its best.
