The Mentalist s6 ep 14

Here we go again.

The CBI-in-danger story this week is even better than before; “Grey Water” begins and ends terrifically and, in between, I was so pleased to see Cho and Rigsby back together again that I could have hugged my tv. I loved all that stuff.

However, the New Mentalist format means that in order to enjoy all that, we also have to sit through another deeply boring instalment of Jane and – *grits teeth* – Agent Fischer going off to solve yet another under-plotted, underwhelming mystery nobody cares about, while Lisbon hangs out at FBI Texas HQ waiting, I guess, for the show to hurry up and be cancelled. Since you went to the trouble of actually bringing Lisbon out to Austin, writers, could you not give her something to do? And I don’t mean with Abbot either.

A little boring. Not because of the new folk, though – Agent Fischer is fine – just because of the plotting and writing.

Agree about Lisbon being underused, though, which is odd.

miss rigsby and van pelt, the show wonbe the same with out them. Rather see Jane and Lisbon together, not Jane and Fisher. Shes fine just not wiht Jane.

Hi Helen, welcome to unpopcult. I’d rather see Jane and Lisbon together too – I’m so disappointed in the way she’s been sidelined since the show moved to Austin. I don’t know what the writers are playing at, but it’s doing my head in.

    You mean #JISCHER WTF!

I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch this episode yet. I fear travesty.

BTW POI was excellent this week. Any coincidence that Reese was hardly in it?

All the suspects in a room, version 37. In which the sub-plot is more interesting than the plot.

Yup – this half of the season in a nutshell.
