Curb Your Enthusiasm s7 ep 4
I suppose that the quality of improvised comedy must be even more variable than the scripted stuff. Sometimes it works; this was one of the other times. Larry David, sans the ‘Seinfeld’ gang this week, had set up a number of scenarios which looked promising – wanting the home phone number of his doctor; a date with old flame Mary Jane Porter (a particularly delightful-looking Sherry Stringfield); the gift certificate; Christian Slater and the caviar; the bad singing. All very clever, but it didn’t really result in anything very funny. Unless you count “Shut the fuck up!”.

I couldn’t agree with you more – I think it’s my fault for proclaiming that every episode of Curb is awesome, the other week. I actually had a look round on a few more blogs after the episode and it seems everyone came to the same conclusion.
Tragically, my Sky box played up this week and so I missed the most recent episode (it recorded but there as no sound). Infuriatingly there are no repeats of the episoede. It’s making my blood boil again thinking about it.
V+ is your friend, Sherby. Although mine decided not to bother with Wednesday’s ‘In Treatment’ this week. At least it’s repeated.
It’s just typical that in an age where every programme is repeated at least 3 times in a week it fails to record the one programme that isn’t repeated. To be fair, it also failed to record programmes that were repeated, but that doesn’t sound as dramatic.
My patents got V+ this week. It’s great that you get all the ‘catch up’ programmes to watch but the interface is so laborious that it looks like it was designed by someone who never actually used it.
You can get ‘Curb’ on iTunes. I missed one earlier in the series and had to catch up that way. There are probably, um, other ways of doing it.
I don’t have a problem with the V+ interface, but then I’ve never had Sky so don’t have anything to compare it with.
Hmmmm. Well I do object to paying for episodes that I feel entitled to see, but the alternative is bit torrents or missing it…. iTunes it is.
