Hung s1 ep 4

I was just a little underwhelmed by this episode for most of its running time.  It’s not an overwhelming show in any case.  But the last few minutes turned it round very nicely.  Ray’s children – intelligently cast and well acted – provided the first lump-in-the-throat moments, and Ray himself forging a touching human connection with one of his clients rounded things off very well.

Underwhelmed is definitely the word – the show seems to be getting by on likeability at the moment. Plus Thomas Jane once guest starred on Arrested Development which gets him an instant 5-episode immunity.

Likeability can go a long way.

Very true, but I can see myself giving up on this if it doesn’t perk up a bit soon.

It’s all very likeable but their coynesss is unbecoming of HBO (though if we’re talking Dirk Diggler-esque they need to give me some warning to let the food settle to avoid an unseemly snorting incident.

You’re being a bit coy there yourself, Olive. I think we know what you want to see…

Yes but if I use the right word I’ll get moderated.

Truthful words, some unadulterated words man. You made my day.
