Without a Trace s6 ep 18
Season 6 of WAT came to an end on More 4 this week and, fittingly, for a season that was more good than bad, so was this episode.
Amongst the things I enjoyed were a smart, intriguing mystery about the abduction of four seemingly unconnected strangers in a coffee shop, and Vivian and Danny being fierce and fearless in very different ways when facing an internal inquiry into their boss’ conduct. Amongst the things I didn’t enjoy were Jack’s self-righteous persecution complex, and the cheesy final scene which appeared to be a step along the way to resurrection of the Jack-Sam relationship.
Sigh. Girlfriend, tell me you are not going to give this train wreck of a man yet another chance to screw up your life. He is BAD FOR YOU. Bad for you, bad for your squad, and, this season, bad for this show. Yes, season 6 of WAT was more good than bad, but Jack was more than bad enough for me. It’s unfortunate that despite a majority of decent episodes and some very well-acted and well-plotted storylines, the main theme of this season has been the “huff that Jack built”. I won’t miss him in the few months till season 7 comes to UK screens, and because of its focus on him, I’m not really going to miss this show either.
It’s more than a few months later and no sign of season 7…. Speaking of absence, how scary was Sam talking about maternity leave in the one before this. “I’ll take 3 days before the baby is born and 2 weeks after, then i’ll make up the rest of my 6 weeks with days and half days.” *6 weeks* Come on America, catch up with the rest of the world.
